Our veteran teammates and clinicians share their tips for success for CPAP therapy

Q. Which CPAP products have customers given the most positive feedback on?
A. We have received a lot of positive feedback on the range of travel CPAP machines offered on ApriaDirect. The Transcend Micro Travel Auto CPAP is extremely lightweight and compact which makes packing it as easy as possible and customers have appreciated that. We're hearing from them that with the machine being so small, packing it with them on-the-go is so easy that they don't really have to even think about it; and ultimately they just want something that allows them to stay on their treatment but still have the freedom to do what they want to do and go where they want.
Q. With flu season beginning, you end up having to clean your CPAP more than normal sometimes. Which products provide solutions for CPAP cleaning?
A. Flu season definitely poses extra challenges for keeping your CPAP equipment clean. With so many flu symptoms going around this time of year, we hear about some patients cleaning their equipment more regularly than what they might normally do. We have a good amount of products that are gentle enough for everyday cleaning and can help stop any spread of bacteria or germs.
One item that comes to mind are the Liviliti CPAP Soap and Bubble Pads, these pads are really effective at removing contaminants and keeping your mask hygienic but soft enough to use daily. Another helpful cleaning product would be something like a hose brush, so you can get to hard-to-reach places where water sits and can possibly grow mold.
Q. What are some new CPAP accessories or products on the market that ApriaDirect is excited to feature?
A. We have made sure to offer more CPAP accessories this past year, so we have a lot of products we are excited about. This means there are more options for CPAP power solutions, cleaning, travel needs, and CPAP comfort.
One of my favorite new products are the Snugz CPAP mask liners. They're machine-washable mask covers that help prevent mask leaks and skin irritation. Another new product I'm excited about is the CPAPHero Hero Pillow. It's a memory foam pillow that's designed specifically for CPAP users with large contours to accommodate for CPAP masks to minimize pressure points and allow people to sleep comfortably.
Q. How does payment work for ApriaDirect? Will it take my insurance for certain products?
A. ApriaDirect is a retail website that accepts every major credit card, PayPal & offers financing through Affirm. Whether you have insurance with a high deductible, no insurance or just simply need items not typically covered by insurance, we are here to help.
ApriaDirect does not accept health insurance plans for payment. However, we accept both Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards for ApriaDirect transactions. As we get close to the end of the year, consider your FSA account and your available FSA funds to purchase eligible healthcare products. FSA funds are typically available for a pre-determined timeline according to your individual plan.
