Mary Rehlinger is a General Manager in Apria's Upper Midwest Market, in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Mary began her career as a respiratory therapist before making her move to Apria, where she's now been for an incredible 31 years! Here are her responses to our questions:
Being a general manager means I am responsible for the branch and its staff. I am available whenever my staff needs me for guidance or some brain storming.
I believe it is important to be hands-on in the day-to-day business... taking care of patients either on the phone or in person, helping a driver load his truck, or filling in if we are short staffed (I am also a respiratory therapist).
I was originally a respiratory therapist in the hospital. I wanted to be more involved in patient care and to have more say in the day-to-day business. I joined Apria for that reason, and am still here because of that.
I believe Apria genuinely cares about their patients and employees. I see this in what the company invests their time and money in. I also see and hear what our competitors are doing, this only solidifies my pride in Apria.
I enjoy road biking; I am a HIIT, cycling, kickboxing, group exercise instructor at the YMCA. I love the outdoors, so anything that gets me outside, kayaking, skiing... etc. And watching my Green Bay Packers!
Going anywhere with my whole family. I have 2 sons and daughter-in-laws, plus a grand baby on the way. We try to go on vacation together at least once a year and always have a great time making memories.
