What is this medicine used for?

This medicine is taken by mouth to get rid of excess gas in the stomach and intestines.

What should my healthcare provider know before I take this medicine?

Before taking this medicine, tell your healthcare provider if you have ever had:

  • an allergic reaction to any medicine
  • phenylketonuria (PKU). The quick dissolve tablet contains phenylalanine.

Females of child-bearing age: Talk with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Do not breast-feed while taking this medicine without your healthcare provider's approval.

How do I take it?

Take this medicine as directed by your healthcare provider, or according to the instructions in the medicine package. For the best results, take it after meals and at bedtime.

This medicine may come in tablets, capsules, and liquid. Chew the tablets thoroughly for fast action. Do not chew the capsules. Swallow them whole. Shake the liquid well before using. Always drink a glass of water with the medicine.

Avoid drinking soft drinks or eating foods that increase gas for you. Foods that create gas in one person may not create gas in another.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and take the next one as directed. Do not take double doses. If you are not sure of what to do if you miss a dose, or if you miss more than one dose, contact your healthcare provider.

What should I watch out for?

Contact your healthcare provider if your condition does not improve in a few days or if it gets worse.

What are the possible side effects?

No significant side effects have been reported.

What products might interact with this medicine?

No significant drug interactions have been reported. However, do not use other similar products while you are using this one without your healthcare provider's approval.

Keep a list of all your medicines (prescription, nonprescription, supplements, natural remedies, and vitamins) with you. Be sure that you tell all healthcare providers who treat you about all the products you are taking.

How should I store this medicine?

Store the tablets and capsules away from heat and moisture. Do not allow the liquid to freeze.
