Oct. 12--Park, Smith & Cooper Inc.

Professional engineer Mike Pink will replace Terry Bilderback, who is retiring from Park, Smith & Cooper Inc. Pink joined PSC in 2001 as a project manager in the El Paso office and was named a stockholder in 2002. He graduated from Colorado State University with a master's and a bachelor's of science. Pink has more than 20 years of engineering experience with emphasis on major environmental programs, large plant operations, capital projects management, facility planning and design, and construction of wastewater collection and treatment projects.

El Paso Electric

Chris Montoya, director of Information Technology for El Paso Electric Co., has been elected to the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas board of directors. El Paso Electric is an investor-owned utility that generates and distributes electricity through an interconnected system to about 359,000 customers in the Rio Grande Valley in West Texas and Southern New Mexico.

Kemp Smith

Eight Kemp Smith attorneys have been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers 2008. They are Richard Bonner, personal injury defense; Clara "C.B." Burns, labor and employment; Milton Colia, civil litigation defense; Jim Curtis, general litigation; Allan Goldfarb, business; Charles C. High Jr., labor and employment; Michael D. McQueen, employment litigation defense; Ken Slavin, appellate; and Gene Wolf, tax. High was named one of the top 100 Texas Super Lawyers in the state. Colia

was named among the top 50 in the Central and West Texas Region. Colia also has been appointed to the Judiciary Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers. The mission of this committee is to identify opportunities that enable the college to contribute to the strength, independence and effectiveness of the American and Canadian judiciaries. Colia is a partner in the firm's Litigation Department.

Brown, McCarroll

El Paso attorney Kathleen Campbell Walker, a partner and head of the Immigration and International Trade Group at Brown, McCarroll LLP, was selected by Texas Lawyer magazine as one of 30 "Extraordinary Women in Texas Law." Chosen from among the state's nearly 23,000 practicing women lawyers, Walker was profiled in a special edition of the Texas Lawyer magazine, which featured the selected attorneys. She will also be honored, along with the other recipients, at a Nov. 14 luncheon in Dallas featuring keynote speakers Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson and the Hon. Edith H. Jones, U. S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Mithoffburton partners

Wade Luther has joined the Online Media Department at MithoffBurton Partners. Luther is a graduate of Trinity University and received his master of business administration degree from the University of San Francisco. A native El Pasoan, Luther has returned home to pursue his career in creative online media and marketing. Having managed campaigns with online giants like Google and Yahoo!, Luther will lend his expertise in online media messaging, as well as supporting clients' search engine optimization.

Hospice El Paso

Jim Raley was recently hired by Hospice El Paso as the supervisor of facilities for its new location at 1440 Miracle. Before joining Hospice El Paso, Raley worked ground maintenance for Horizon Airport.

JDW Insurance

W. Martin Yung, a shareholder and president of JDW Insurance, has earned the firm's New Business Production Leader Award for September. The recognition award is based on new business sales revenue generated during the month.

Announcements

Daniel H. Hernandez, attorney and shareholder with Ray, Valdez, McChristian & Jeans PC, has become a licensed attorney in New Mexico. Hernandez is board-certified in personal-injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has more than 17 years of experience as a trial lawyer.

Mari King and Frances Rittman of Prudential BKB Realtors recently attended the Hobbs/Herder Gateway Seminar in San Antonio. The two Realtors learned marketing strategies and servicing systems to better serve their real estate clients.

ConocoPhillips recently donated $22,500 to the New Mexico State University College of Business, the latest in a series of annual gifts from the energy company to broaden opportunities for faculty and students.

"ConocoPhillips has a long history of doing business in New Mexico as well as recruiting students from New Mexico State University," said Maria Schick, a ConocoPhillips recruiter and director of commercial development and planning. Schick is one of many former NMSU students now working for ConocoPhillips.
