EarthCraft home to be auctioned for kids charity
An EarthCraft house that will be auctioned to help Children's Healthcare of Atlanta will be open for public viewing beginning Saturday.
Brock Built is putting the finishing touches on the four-bedroom home, located west of Marietta Boulevard at 1536 Craftsman Drive.
The house will be auctioned online by Interstate Auction from Sept. 17 to Oct. 3. The minimum bid is $350,000.
Recycled materials and environmentally friendly paints were used in building the house, which has energy-efficient appliances and infrastructure.

CONDO MARKET
True, Atlanta's condominium market has been wheezing for more than a year, but that doesn't mean condo sales have stopped.
Haddow & Co., an Atlanta real estate consulting firm, compiled a list of the top-10-selling condo projects for the first half of the year. In all, 318 units have sold. The biggest sellers were:

In millions, what 0.38 of an acre at 514 and 516 E. Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead sold for. The seller was Dina Woodruff, and the buyers were Parkside Partners and Moore Investment Group. The buyers have accumulated about 2 acres on East Paces, which they plan to hold for future development.

ON THE MOVE
School supply company Norcom is moving its Norcross manufacturing operations to the Cooper Standard building in the Griffin-Spalding Industrial Park.
Norcom already is working out of a 300,000-square-foot building in the Green Valley Industrial Park in Griffin. It expects its combined work force in Spalding County to total 285 people.
Norcom began operations in Norcross in 1979 as a startup company. It makes commodity school supplies such as binders and writing tablets.
ON THE MARKET
A 20,000-square-foot building just north of the Georgia Aquarium is for sale for $1.8 million.
The building, at 156 Parker St. between Lovejoy Street and Centennial Olympic Park Drive, had been a ministry center for the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association.
Rob Whitmire of Bull Realty said the price is low for that area --- $76 a square foot for the land, which totals half an acre.
TRANSACTIONS
A large apartment complex in Norcross has sold for $31.7 million, Databank says.
The 420-unit Conifer Crossing sold to San Francisco-based Fowler Property Acquisitions. Simpson Housing of Denver was the seller.
The buyer took out a seven-year, $28.7 million loan, Databank says.
The apartments were built on 53.8 acres in 1980. The sale works out to $75,595 per unit.
