Nov. 7--JAMESTOWN -- A total of 1,831 doses of H1N1 influenza vaccine were given Saturday during the Guilford County Health Department's vaccination clinic held at GTCC's Medlin Center.

The Department was able to open the clinic to provide vaccinations to all 5 CDC priority groups: pregnant women; children ages 6 months to 24 years of age; health care workers and emergency medical services personnel; adults ages 25-64 with underlying health conditions; and household contacts and caregivers of children 6 months of age and younger.

"We are pleased that so many individuals and families took advantage of the opportunity to be vaccinated," said health director Merle Green in a news release.

The clinic is being held in the Medlin Center at GTCC at 601 High Point Road in Jamestown until 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Department of Public Health has nearly 6,000 doses of the H1N1 flu vaccine to administer.
