Nov. 4--A woman who walked out of El Camino Hospital in Mountain View on Monday morning with an intravenous line still attached to her chest is safe, police said Tuesday.
Police had issued an alert for an "at-risk" missing adult Monday as they searched for 30-year-old Heather "Lynn" Chambers, who left the hospital against doctor's orders. Police said trying to remove her central IV line without medical help could kill her and that she had a psychological illness that could impair her judgment.
On Monday evening, Chambers made contact with her mother, Mountain View police spokeswoman Liz Wylie said.
"She's fine, and they were going to be seeking medical attention for the tube in her chest," Wylie said.
No further details were available about where Chambers was or how she was found.
