  Man accused of crimes against grandmother
 
 

Nov. 4--MOULTRIE -- A Moultrie man was apprehended Monday after he allegedly took advantage of his grandmother's illness.

Daniel Lee Baker, 25, of 853 Highway 319 N., was charged with two counts of crimes against the elderly and probation violation.

Colquitt County Sheriff's Investigator Sgt. Jason Thompson said Baker allegedly had his grandmother's property signed over to him. In addition to the property, his grandmother, who suffers from dementia, allegedly also gave Baker the power of attorney over her affairs.

Additional changes against Baker were pending additional information into the allegations, Thompson said.

Moultrie Police

--Milton Jerome King, 27, of 709-B Second Ave. S.E., was charged Tuesday with battery (family violence).

--Donna Marie Epperson, 24, of 709-B Second Ave. S.E., was charged Tuesday with battery (family violence).

--Randall M. Moore, 17, of 457 W. Mulberry St. in Funston, was charged Monday with theft by shoplifting. He allegedly tried to steal a paid of Starter shoes and a T-shirt, valued at $32, from Wal-Mart on South Veterans Parkway.

Colquitt County S.O.

--Brandon Lee Bruce, 28, of 1173 Roberts Road, was charged Monday with a child support violation.

--Stanley Lamar Williams Jr., 23, of 319 E. Culpepper St. in Doerun, was charged Sunday with battery.

Other Incidents

Moultrie Police

--An employee at Rite Aid on Sixth Street Southeast reported a thief broke out a window and stole food items Monday. The value of the stolen items was $6.

--Tomia Willingham, of Fifth Street Northwest, reported someone dented and cracked the paint on the hood of her Pontiac Grand Prix between 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

--Darryl Barron reported someone damaged two window screens and a window air conditioning unit at his rental property on Seventh Avenue Southeast between Oct. 23 and 1:43 p.m. Monday. Damage was estimated at about $100.

--Melvin Dillard, of Joe Louis Avenue, reported a thief stole an Aspire laptop computer Monday. The value of the stolen computer was $248.

Colquitt County S.O.

--Anastasia Garcia, of Dennis Powell Lane in Norman Park, reported a thief damaged several interior decoration items and statues and stole a pit bull dog between 7:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Monday. Damage and the value of the stolen dog was $2,360.

--Bertha Walker, of Adel Highway, reported a male acquaintance stole her Ford rollback truck between Oct. 1 and Oct. 25.
