Q:	How do I know if my insurance covers a back-up ventilator?

A: Most insurance companies will cover a second ventilator in the home as long as it is deemed medically necessary. In some cases, a second ventilator will be covered if it is required for portability (such as being mounted on a wheelchair). However, calling your health insurance company is your best bet to getting this information.
